What’s in a Name

Noni noni is the term that my family (being from Argentina) and many other Argentine families use to say “night night.”  The term is Italian.  Every night I say to my son, “Ok, Judah, it’s time for noni noni.”  The best is when he says to me, “Mommy, I want to go noni!”  Jackpot!!!

When we were searching for a name for this new venture, we tried a lot of different things and nothing stuck.  Nothing felt personal to my family, no name felt like it had much meaning.  Meanwhile, Judah was going noni noni every night.  Finally, one day, Daniela in my office, said to me, “What is that term, that you use with your son when it’s sleep time?  Noni, right?  What about that?”  She was brilliant.  It was so obvious all this time!  Sometimes the answer is right in front of you.
